I met Loren in the early seventies , he was living in the garage at the concrete plant in Mt Pleasant. I was living in the chicken coop Bud had converted to apartments on the same property. There was a XKE project next to his bed and cool stuff everywhere.he had great knowledge and an affinity for machines,as I did.i spent countless hrs learning from him and listening to his muses and music. We rode in his miny mixer and drank beers and threw the cans out the back window of the shop, the pile of Emtys was 3 ft high. I will never forget him or understand why I typed his name in my computer for the first time in forty five years. What a totally unique individual. I am extremely lucky to have known him. Ciao-

My condolences to the family of this special man. He will be missed by too many people to count. I remember when my Dad first introduced me to him 54 years ago. They taught me what a magneto does by having me stick my finger in the spark plug hole on an old Simpson and kicking it over. I cannot forget that lesson. (I have tried - ouch.)

He was a wonderful neighbor who helped me a lot through the years. It was a privilege to perform music and jam with him many times over the years. He will be missed.

"Uncle" Loren (first cousin once removed) ....... what a spirit....... what memories. Your infectious smile, twinkling eyes and heart warming never ending story tellings that often revolved around either the music created from a guitar and/or the music created from the zzzhaust of an engine, you were certainly a special kind of a "one of a kind guy". I am reminded of the last thing you said to me just a couple of weeks ago....... "you're made outta the right material". Rest in peace my friend, you will be joyously remembered w/o effort and sadly missed forever. Hot Rod the Heavens.

Absolutely sui generis and an inspiration to all of us seekers of unique lives. Even though I only visited him every five years or so (MPHS high school reunions), I will miss him and his wry wit enormously. A man of profound genius and great humanity.
