Marilyn Ann Sanchez

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness to share that Marilyn Ann Sanchez passed away on March 12,2022. Marilyn was born March 9, 1936, to William James and Pauline (Leonard) Mills. She graduated from Alma High School in 1954 where she was active in Band. She started co-op her senior year with the Union Telephone Company that led into a 30-year career with General Telephone. In 1957 she married Salvador Sanchez. She spent many years enjoying bowling, golfing including securing a hole in one and becoming the league champion one year, and of course going to the casinos and playing bingo. She spent her retirement doing all she loved. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Marylou Nemetz and Patty Wideman, great grandchildren Ella May Bigger and Maggie Palmer. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Salvador (Chabo), brother William (Sue) Mills Jr., children Raymond of Alma MI, Becky (Terry)Watson of Markle Indiana, Sal of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Kim (Gary) Gager of Breckenridge, MI, and Rosemary (Clyde) Swanson of Charlotte, MI, 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, of which she was extremely proud, as well as many nieces, nephews, and many friends. Words cannot express the love we have for her and what she did for our family. She left a lasting impact to those who knew her. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 11 am at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma. Interment will follow in Chapel Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions in Marilyn's memory to Mid-Michigan Home Care/Hospice.
