Masa Jean (Mitchell) Hyde, November 19, 2021. Age 88. Masa Jean Hyde was born to Mary "Jeannette" Mitchell and John "Foster" Mitchell in St. Louis, Michigan. She and her brother, John (Jack) Foster Mitchell, grew up on the centennial family farm outside Breckenridge, MI. She attended St. Louis Schools and subsequently attended Michigan State University. Masa was a life-long Spartan fan, especially on U of M game day. She was a teacher of English, Spanish and Drama for 33 years at Alma Middle School. She believed everyone deserved a good education, and she loved teaching. Following her retirement, Masa and Del enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren at their home, cottage, or Florida. Her favorite things in life were traveling, celebrating holidays, playing cards, watching wildlife, or gardening. Masa was the devoted wife of Del Hyde (preceded in death); loving mother of Kris Hyde, Mike Hyde, and Kelly Hyde-Hildebrandt (Jeff); caring Nana of Miabelle, McKenzie, Allison (Josh), Nick (Andrea), Michael, Anna (Evan), and Maggie; proud great-grandmother of Henry, Isabel, Ellie and Lucy. A Memorial Service will be held privately at Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore, MI followed by internment in Breckenridge, MI.
