Nathan Britting Obituary

Britting, Nathan J.; age 65; of Alma; passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center in St. Louis. He was born on February 4, 1951 in Mt. Pleasant the son of Richard and Mary (Bundesen) Britting and grew up in Forest Hill. He was a 1969 graduate of Alma High School. In his youth he worked alongside his father at their automobile repair shop the Forest Hill Garage and continued his passion of cars the rest of his life. He owned Britting Radiator Shop in Alma for over 20 years and had spent the last several years working for J and J Giles Tire Service in Alma. Nate also enjoyed racing cars with his brothers. He was most recently an avid golfer and spent many long days with his brothers on the North Star Golf Course. Nate also enjoyed history. Nate is survived by a sister, Wanda (James) Nemier of Ithaca; two brothers, Jim Britting of Alma, Dale (Becky) Britting of Gaylord; special friend, Priscilla DeBoer; step-children, Courtney and Katie Ballinger; four step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Robb, Kevin, Troy, Allie and Brad Britting, John, Josh and Justin Nemier and Tara Spillane. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wayne Britting; an infant sister, Betty Jean Britting; his former wife, Bonnie; a step-daughter, Nicole Ballinger; and a nephew, Trevor Britting. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home with Pastor John Robinson of the Forest Hill Church of Christ officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund. Nate was the definition of class. A kind man, who was easy going and never rude. I will be forever grateful for the role he played in our family. It was beautiful to witness a couples "first love" romance rekindled, just like out of the movies! Thank you Nate, you worked a magic just by being you.
