Paul E. Clawson

CLAWSON, PAUL E., age 94, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away September 7, 2023, at Prestige Centre of Mt. Pleasant. Services for Paul will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, with Visitation at 4 p.m. and Funeral at 5 p.m. with Ben Evers officiating. Immediately following the service, a Celebration of Life will be held at Cheers Neighborhood Bar and Grill. Burial of ashes will take place at Oakland Mills Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, on October 5, 2023, at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Paul was born April 19, 1929, son of the late Samuel Clawson. Paul proudly served in the United States Air Force, stationed at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. He was self-employed in electronic sales. Paul married the love of his life Gloria Mae Stablein on October 16, 1994, in Lake Tahoe, NV. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards, and going out to eat. Most of all, Paul loved spending time with his grandchildren. Paul is survived by his children: Steven (Robin) Clawson of Miami, FL, David (Stephanie) Clawson of Delavan, WI; step-children: Larry Visner of Grand Haven, MI, Jeff (Susan) Visner of Eagle River, WI, Sandra (Gregg) Smith of Amboy, WA, Ted Visner of Remus, MI, Mike (Paula) Visner of Eagle River, WI; grandchildren: Christopher Clawson, Allison Visner, Raymond Visner, Jason Visner, Jessica Visner, Ashley Schaaf, Nick Visner, Lexi Visner, Matthew Visner; great-grandchildren: Caden Visner, Aldyn Visner, Katie Visner, Luke Oliver Visner; and sister: Evelyn Brusear.
