Paul J. Deni

Born on the cusp of World War II, July 30, 1939, Paul J Deni passed from this world to a far greater world on October 2, 2023. He was the third of four children born to Rose (Vetere) Deni and Luigi Deni in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. He was a 1957 graduate of Scared Heart Academy and a 1963 graduate of Central Michigan University. Paul was a gifted athlete, lettering in four sports during his high school years, including four years of football. His love of children and teaching led him to teach 6th grade for thirty-three years, including twenty-nine at Beal City Public Schools. He enjoyed small game hunting, fly fishing and deer hunting. In later years, bird watching and reading became his favorite hobbies. He was a student of military history and was well versed in WWI and WWII RAF. Additionally, he loved to fly himself. He died in his home in Lawrenceville, GA, under Hospice care and wonderful personal home care givers following a brain stem stroke in May. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Louie Jr. and Frank. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sharon Brewster Deni, daughter Lisa (Phillip) Christopher, grandson, Connor Brewster Lewanowicz all of Georgia and sister Roseann Bommarito of Saginaw, MI. He also leaves behind several cousins, nieces and nephews. Following a funeral Mass to be held at Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Pleasant in the spring of 2024, his cremains will be interred at Riverside Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to HATS Animal Rescue, 1105 S Isabella Rd. Mt.
