Russell Bush Obituary

Russell M. (Rusty) Bush Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Ann Arbor on March 30, 2022. Rusty was born in St. Louis, Michigan on April 30, 1958. He was a graduate of St. Louis High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Bush Sr. and Margaret Angle, and by his siblings Wendy, Terry, and Ted. He is survived by his sister Heidi (Greg), his nieces Mia and Liza (John) and his great-niece Ella.Rusty was a veteran of the United States Army and an alumnus of the University of Michigan where he earned both Bachelor and Master degrees. Rusty will be remembered as a passionate and honest person with a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He was always interested and, as such, always interesting. He greatly enjoyed gardening and landscaping for himself and his neighbors and had rolled many a rock. Rusty's place in cinema history was cemented when his appearance in an Army recruiting advertisement was used in the opening scene of the movie 'Stripes' (citation needed). Rusty was truly one of a kind and he will be greatly missed. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Alas, poor Rusty, I knew you well at one time. This world just became too much for you to deal with, and I understand.

I was sorry to hear of Rusty´s passing. He didn´t color between the lines, and that made him a great person to be around and a challenging person to be around all at the same time. My deepest condolences to his loved ones.
