Robert Herman Gordon Sr.

Robert Herman Gordon Sr. departed this earthly home at his residence on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the age of 83. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA for 51 years. ""Daddy Rob,"" as he is affectionately known, was a graduate of Joseph S. Clark High School Class of 1954. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a former employee of Kaiser Aluminum. Beloved husband of 55 years to Elvina Joseph Gordon. Loving father of Wilbert Vaughn, Alicia Scott, Robert (Patricia) Gordon Jr., Gina Fox, Tanya Gordon, Reginald (Lateca) Gordon, and the late Charles Gordon. Grandfather of the late Jona Fox. Son of the late Charles Gus Gordon and Marie Dejoie. Brother of Delores DeQuair and the late Reginald Gordon, Raymond Gordon, Rose Hogan, and Barbara Gordon. Robert is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, offices and members of St. Paul Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St Paul Baptist Church, 1509 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Dr. Orin D. Grant, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
