John Henry Bingle

RISINGSUN: John Henry Bingle, age 82, of Risingsun, Ohio passed away on Tuesday (January 17, 2012) at St. Catherine's Manor of Fostoria.

He was born on October 7, 1929 in his grandparents' homestead in Sandusky County. He was the son of Joseph Henry and Miriam Enid (Mitchell) Bingle. On August 25, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio, he was united in marriage to Isla J. Schiffman.

Surviving is his loving wife, Isla of 60 years; son, James (Karen) Bingle of Illinois; daughters, Eileen Bingle of Helena, Ohio, Beverly Hickle of Texas, Sallie Bingle of Risingsun, Ohio; brother, Fred (Rowena) Bingle of Risingsun, Ohio; grandchildren, Rebecca, Benjamin, Kurtis, Kristina, Michael, Jade, Jordan, Bianca, Jewel, Joseph; great-grandsons, Brandon, Kaleb, Samuel, and Wyatt.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Miriam; son, Kenneth; brother, George; sisters, Betty, Miriam, Mary Lou & Janet.

John was a caregiver for his grandparents in his youth and was a 1947 graduate of Risingsun High School. As a life-long member of Scott-Trinity United Methodist Church, he served in various leadership positions. He was passionate in his advocacy of church camp ministries. He was a farmer and owned and operated the Bingle Plumbing and Heating business. He also served as the Scott Township sexton for many years. John enjoyed traveling with his wife Isla and family to many different locations over the years.

Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Friday (January 20, 2012) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio and from 1-2 p.m. Saturday (January 21, 2012) at Scott-Trinity United Methodist Church near Risingsun. A Celebration of Life Service will start at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Scott-Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Gus Christo-Baker & Pastor Kay Hatch officiating. Burial will be at Scott-Trinity Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Church or area Volunteer Fire Departments. Online condolences may be sent to John's family at www.barndtfuneralhome.org.

Dear Isla & family: John was a wonderful man, a great friend, and was always there for us as a plumber. We were shocked to read his obituary online, so it was too late to attend his funeral. We are very sorry for your loss and send our prayers that you will find comfort from our Lord.
