Stanley Gahn Obituary
Fremont - Stanley R. Gahn, 76, of Fremont, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Elmwood Assisted Living. He was born on March 12, 1941 in Port Clinton to Kenneth and Ruth (Hammel) Gahn.
Stanley was a 1959 graduate of Salem High School in Oak Harbor. He later continued his education at The Ohio State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Economics. On August 1, 1964, he married Saundra Bennett at Grace Lutheran Church. Together, they shared 44 years of loving marriage until Saundra's passing in 2008. Stanley worked at Heinz USA as an agricultural manager until retiring in 1998. He then went on to work at The Ohio State University as a research technician where he retired from in 2008. He enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Master Garden's Club of Sandusky County but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are sons, Eric Gahn and David Gahn Sr. both of Fremont; daughter, Kristin (Marc) Lafayette of Grosse Ile, MI; grandchildren, Adam (Tesla), David (Kimberly) Jr., and Kaitlynn Gahn, Joseph and Alexandra Lafayette; great-granddaughter, Remington; and brother, Roger (Judy) Gahn.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Saundra Gahn; and brother, Gene Gahn.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home where there will be an additional hour of visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Scott Mauch will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Master Gardener's Club of Sandusky County.

My high school classmate is remembered fondly for his kindness, friendly easy going ways, his freckles and short hair. We both enjoyed band... his trombone and my sax. Stan was a great friend for many years. His knowledge about plant science as a Heinz agriculturalist and fieldman at the Fremont Company was always appreciated. He was a great help driving truck for us in his retirement.

Our sincere sympathy to all of my cousin Stanley's family. I have wonderful memories of Stanley when we visited Kenneth and Ruth's farm near Oak Harbor, when we were all kids. Also, nice memories from visits to Fremont and when Stanley visited Clarksville on several occasions. It's hard to grasp how all these years go by so quickly, but know that all of you must have beautiful memories of Stanley....cherish them. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
