Barbara Ashley Obituary

Barbara Sue Ashley, 74, of Rineyville, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022, at her home.

She was a native of Jefferson County and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and loved her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Augustine Thomas and Ruth Mae Irth.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ewing Ashley of Rineyville; four children, John Ashley of Rineyville, Peggy Ashley of Rineyville, Joe (Myra) Ashley of Rineyville and Donna (Craig) Ashley of Louisville; two brothers, Louis Thomas of Vine Grove and Billy Thomas of Elizabethtown; four sisters, Anna Merchant of Elizabethtown, Rosemary Dennison of Rineyville, Evelyn McGrew of Eastview and Mary Ann Yewell of Owensboro; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial follows in St. John Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continues at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
