To My dearest Nino,
Words cannot express how much you mean to us and how much you are missed. I will always remember the Sunday visits with you bringing a Pizza for our Grandson Ian and talking to him about soccer. We will always remember the stories about you and dad when you were kids growing up. You fought hard to the end. We love and miss you very much. Give my Nina and my cousins a big hug and kiss from us.

Ben and Lupita were part of the St. Isidore´s, Sunday Rosary family. After Lupita died Ben continued to pray the Rosary and join us afterwards for pan dulce and 2 cups of black coffee. When there was food he enjoyed it with fresh hot chilies. He told us stories of growing up in Los Alamitos. He had the first bicycle. When 7/8 Coyote Creek overflowed when he was walking his cow in the Eucalyptus forest (Rossmoor). He told me of the station wagon his father bought as they traveled to Oxnard to pick vegetables from the fields. Because of this his education was spotty. He was a man of small build and was often recruited to go into crawl spaces in St. Isidore Church. He was known to wear caps. During football season he rooted for the USC Trojans. And also proudly wore an LA Angels caps and one honoring him as a WWII Vet. When he could no longer join us on Sunday mornings a group of us would visit and bring him pan dulce. Most recently he appreciated the chicken enchiladas I made for him. I´ll miss Ben. His stories. The history he brought to life. And his smile. Rest In Peace my friend.
