Charles Wheeler Obituary

Charles Edward Wheeler, 92, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Springfield Nursing and Rehabilitation in Springfield.

He retired as a woodworker for Gamble Brothers.

He was born in Hodgenville, the son of the late Lewis and Cecilia Wheeler.

Mr. Wheeler is survived by his brother, Harvey Wheeler of Fisherville; his caregiver, Joy Masden of Lebanon Junction; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral for Mr. Charles Edward Wheeler is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown with Brother Greg Crenshaw officiating. Interment follows in Youngers Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the WHAS Crusade for Children.

Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown is in charge of arrangements.

My deepest sympathy is extended to Great-Uncle Harvey and the other family members. I have fond memories of Great-Uncle Charles: his special smile, the family reunions, my mother's (Thelma Constant Jones) photos. It is nice to know he is with his wife and family now.
