Edeltrude "Trudy" P. Cruz, 85, of Radcliff, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, at her residence.

Mrs. Cruz was retired from civil service on Fort Knox, after a long and successful career. Her memberships included St. Christopher Parish, German-American Club of Louisville, American Legion Post No. 113 Auxiliary and Edelweiss Club of Radcliff.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolf and Erna Grill; and a sister, Amalie Schmid.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Joe Cruz; two daughters, Tonya Miller (Ronnie) and Sylvia D. Sloan; three grandchildren, Kyle T. Sloan, Kelsey E. Sloan and Natalie M. Miller; a brother, Anton Grill (Blanca); and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Cruz is at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at St. Christopher Parish in Radcliff. Cremation follows the service.

Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Christopher Parish in Radcliff.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Last weekend I was in Cherokee NC and saw a pic of a couple behind the counter. It looked just like Joe and Trudy except the guy wasn't wearing an El Senor hat . It got me thinking about them and I hadn't see them at the German American club in a while. Again so sorry for your loss Joe and family.
