Gary Lucas Obituary
He was born Nov. 18, 1959, at Hardin Memorial Hospital to his parents, Oleta Jean Lucas and Wallace Wilson Lucas.
Gary worked at Gates Rubber Company for many years.
He was an avid fisherman and loved U of L basketball. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling. Gary enjoyed sitting outside and admiring nature. He was a man of simple things and a simple life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his uncle, Tommie Henning; a sister-in-law, Sheila Lucas; and his grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Mae Lucas; his son, Christopher Allen (Carrie) Lucas; three stepchildren, James Taylor, Betty Taylor and Lennie Taylor; three brothers, Wayne (Brenda) Lucas, Roger (Marchitta) Lucas and Larry Lucas; his aunts and uncles, Russell (Brenda) Horn, Finley (Doris) Butler and Maxine Henning; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral is at noon Thursday, Nov. 6, at Yates Chapel Community Church in Cecilia. Burial follows in Yates Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continues at 9 a.m. Thursday at the church.
