Geneva I. Miller, 92, of Clarkson, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, at her home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1929, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Clarence (Jack) Caswell and Anna Jane Priddy Caswell. She was saved at age 13 in Millerstown and baptized in the Nolin River. She was a member of Little Clifty United Methodist Church and was active with the youth group. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit No. 81, where she served as a former chaplain. She and her husband, Denny, owned and operated a country general store in Bloody Ridge for many years. She was an aide at the Grayson County War Memorial Hospital and Grayson Manor. She loved singing gospel music especially at the Clarkson United Methodist Cantata.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Denny R. Miller; her parents, Clarence "Jack" and Anna Jane Priddy Caswell; three brothers, Herman, William "Bill" and Everett Caswell; a grandson, Bobby Ray Oldham; and a great-grandson, Aaron Barnett.
Survivors include her two daughters Shirley Miller of Hartford and Ruby Mercer of Clarkson; a son, Larry Miller (Angie) of Upton; four grandchildren, Denise Wyman, Bethany (Pat) Barnett, Daniel Miller and Tyler (Kelsey) Miller; five great-grandchildren, Brittany Dennis, Austin Carey, Harleigh Beth and Elijah and Elizabeth Barnett; and two great-great-grandchildren, Beckham and Brooklyn Dennis.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. CDT Monday, Sept. 27, at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson with Brother Sean Mitchell officiating. Burial follows in Little Clifty Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. CDT Sunday and continues at 10 a.m. CDT Monday at the funeral home.
The family requests everyone please wear a mask and no food be brought to the funeral home.
