Jane Carol Burnett

Jane Carol Gregory Burnett, 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, in the late afternoon, with family beside her.

She was born Aug. 24, 1934, to the late Frances and AH "Red" Gregory.

Jane loved her family and spending time with her cousins. She enjoyed spending time with Kelly's dog, Oliver, as well as knitting and reading. She loved playing Bridge through the years and cherished those friendships. Jane was a member of Memorial United Methodist for most of her 91 years.

She was born in Campbellsville, but lived most of her life in Elizabethtown, where she met her husband and love of her life, Duke Burnett. They were married 71+ years, but together since her eighth-grade year of school. Jane and Duke spent eight years in Trigg County, Cadiz, where she enjoyed the friendships and the beauty of Western Kentucky.

Most importantly, Jane loved Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She gracefully encouraged many to always turn to prayer for hope and gratitude and to turn to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and AH "Red" Gregory; a brother, Hugh Gregory; and a sister, Betty Elmore Coats.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Hartlage (John), Patricia Burnett and Kelly Clark (Troy); three grandchildren, Kimber Hill (Treg), Greg Carter and Alex Geller (Corey); two great-grandchildren, Maddie Grace Hill and Olivia Jane Hill; three sisters, Nina Jones, Frances Gregory and Janet Gregory; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, who will miss her dearly.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial follows in Hardin Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
