Keith Olan Emerine

1933 - 2024

Keith Olan Emerine, 91, of Vine Grove, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

He was born in Livingston County on July 14, 1933, to Ado J. and Callie Foster Emerine. He graduated from Vine Grove High School in May 1951. He graduated from Bowling Green College of Commerce, Bowling Green, in January 1955 with a Bachelor or Science in Accounting.

He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in March 1955. He retired from active duty in 1979 and retired from the reserves in 1993 with the rank of lieutenant colonel in the health service administrator field.

His current community involvement includes member of Vine Grove United Methodist Church and member of the Trustee Committee. He was a member of the Reserve Officer Association and a member of the USAF Medical Services Corp. Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ado J. and Callie Foster Emerine; a sister, Mabel G. Lewis; a brother, Ollie B. Emerine; an aunt and stepmother, Viva Foster Emerine; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Emerine.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Ruth Anne Emerine; a daughter, Mary Lou Emerine; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Athena; a grandson, Brian Keith and his wife, Kelly; two great-granddaughters, Ava and Charlotte; a brother-in-law, Terrell Lewis; a sister-in-law, Brenda Bell Taylor; two nephews, Gary (Nancy) Emerine and Craig (Angie) Emerine, plus several nieces and nephews; and special cousin, Royalyn E. Lawrence.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff with Pastor Claudia Neva Galloway and Pastor Dan Paddack officiating. Burial with military honors follows in Vine Grove Cemetery in Vine Grove.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
