Larry Roland Obituary

Larry Dean Roland died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, with his loving family by his side in Lutz, Florida.

Larry never met a stranger. He loved people, Corvettes, golf, the Ohio State Buckeyes and, most of all, he loved and cherished his family and friends.

For those who knew Larry, they know he gave generously of himself and his time to family and friends. He cared and felt deeply about his friendships with the members of the Capital City Corvette Club and their charity, The Nationwide Children's Hospital.
He was born in Sherman on June 19, 1947, to the late James H. Roland and Juanita (Stewart) Roland.

He was the owner-operator of Roland Architectural Products, LLC. He was a member of The Builders Exchange of Central Ohio, Ohio Structural Steel & Architectural Metals Association, Inc., the Capital City Corvette Club, Bowling Green Assembly Plant Corvette Club and the Sun 'N' Fun Corvette Club. Larry was a master ambassador of the National Corvette Museum.

He is survived and deeply mourned by his wife of 44 years, Janice (Weekes) Roland; two daughters, Heather (Kevin) Gibson and Erika (Ryan) Reed; a sister, Myra (Galusha) March; two precious granddaughters, Marley and Riley Gibson; an uncle, Allen (Barbara) Stewart; three aunts, Doris Hall, Mary (Clay) Crupper and Linda (Dwight) Harvey; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial is at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 313 N. State St., Westerville, Ohio, with the Rev. Father David Gwinner officiating. Interment follows in Resurrection Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Hill Funeral Home, 220 S. State St., Westerville.

Expresssions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Capital City Corvette Club for the Children's Hospital Christmas Fund, P.O. Box 71, Lewis Center, OH 43035.

Dearest Jan, we are still stunned and numb over the tremendous and sudden loss of your precious husband. Rarely have we known a couple more in love with each other as you and Larry. We were in England when we learned he was ill and immediately put him on prayer lists there and in America. Art returned home before I did so he was able to attend Larry's funeral. He told me you were well supported by your marvelous family. For that we are glad. Please know you continue to remain in our thoughts and prayers. We are all so blessed that Larry was in our lives.
