Mike Bell was one of the closes friends I had while in the military. Somehow we managed to stay in touch after so many years. He really had a impact on me and I will miss those conversations and texts we shared. My prayers go out to his family and the many friends he touched.

Mike was my cousin, but in our family being related means so much more than just a word. He was the father I never had, the person that I always counted on to be there. Whether it be at Aunt Elizabeth's, or over for a family gathering, Mike was always, ALWAYS there. We would get together on Christmas Eve over my aunts house and Joyce and Mike were ALWAYS there. I'll never forget his laugh, his hugs, even the way he said my name when he saw me. I'm so thankful to have a recording of him talking to me, telling me how proud his is, just hearing his voice brings back the warmth of my cousins love. Somehow my family will get through this, but it's the shock of it all that lingers and the thought of him gone that hurts. I know he's watching his daughter and is so, so proud, and I know he's with Joyce and always will be. Please keep us in prayer.

Dear Liz, I can't imagine losing a child, and yet you've lost two. I know that God is still in the blessing business and i know He will take care of you and your beautiful family! I'm so sorry I can't be at the funeral, because I have to take my sister to the doctor for a treatment. But I send my love and sympathy to you and your family. May God bless and keep you. Your friend in Christ!

To Elizabeth, Shirl, Barry and the entire Bell/Thurman family, I have no words that would ease your pain and grief at this time, but I can pray and that is what I have been doing since I heard of Mike's demise. We all grew up together in church and the community, so that makes me a part of the family as well, and I feel the pain of grief with you. I also know that God is a very present help in the time of trouble, and he will hide us under his wings, I send my love and prayers to you all, and will continue to keep you lifted in prayer.
