Raymond Coffie Obituary

Raymond Bruce Coffie, 65, went to join our Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at University of Louisville Hospital.

He was born Jan. 18, 1958, in Okahumpka, Florida, the son of Edward Coffie Sr. and Helen Sutton.

Raymond, a devout man of faith in God and ministry, graduated from Leesburg High School Class of 1977 and attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree. Following graduation, he married his high school sweetheart Teresa Smith and joined the military where he served as a captain in the U.S. Army, his branch was Armor. Fort Knox and Baumholder, Germany, were two duty stations Capt. Coffie and his family toured. Minister Raymond Coffie and Evangelist Teresa Coffie founded T & Coffie Ministries Inc. and settled in Radcliff to raise their three children after his military service. Team leader and supervisor, Raymond worked for 30 years at Akebono Brake Manufacturing Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Naomi Spencer. Raymond loved, honored and cherished his family, who also loved him and will miss him dearly. He has left an impactful legacy of love to be remembered by his wife, Teresa Coffie; his son, Jeremiah Coffie; daughters, Ronique Coffie, LPCA, Ramona Coffie, M.D., (Prenell) Spencer; and five grandchildren, Prenell Jr., Judah, Joy, Demetria and Helen; godson, Mark Jones Jr.; one sister, Rhonda Coffie D'Haiti; brothers, Lorenzo Coffie (Gloria) and Edward Coffie Jr. (Dee); mother-in-law, Julia Smith; sisters-in-law, Diane (Clarence) Peeples, Ola (Ernest) Graham and Brenda Smith; brothers-in-law, Tyrone Smith (Peggy) and Aldanzo L. Pratt (Ruby); plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A homegoing service of remembrance/funeral is at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at Citadel of Hope Ministries Church. 2795 South St., Leesburg, Florida. Minister Raymond Coffie's wake is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday also at Citadel of Hope Ministries Church.

Rocker-Cusack-Mortuary Funeral Home in Leesburg in directing arrangements. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.

In admiration. Capt. Raymond Bruce Coffie will receive a military service of honor and be buried at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 8, in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Local arrangements were by Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home.

We met the Coffee family in 1987 in Radcliff after returning from Germany. He served as deacon at that time. He and his lovely wife sis. Coffee served faithfully in the church. He loved God and his family. He will be missed. I send my prayers and condolences.
