Boyd Hammond

Boyd Franklin Hammond Sr., age 88, of Blue Ridge, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at his home in Blue Ridge.
Boyd was born November 22, 1936, in Fowler, Colorado to Glenn and Ruth Hammond.
Mr. Hammond worked for Oklahoma City Chemical Company as a Purchasing Agent and then transferred to Tennessee Chemical Company in 1974.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force with honor achieving the rank of E-3.
Boyd was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Hammond; and mother, Ruth Hammond.
He is survived by his wife, Carlie Hammond; daughters, Marita (Barry) Marbut, Tara (Michael) Monteith, and Raina Hammond; son, Boyd Franklin Hammond, Jr.; and daughter, Valdora (Ryan) Dockery; grandchildren, Phillip (Amber) Marbut, Sarah (Heath) Hires, Matthew (Bethany) Marbut, Lindsey Matheson, Jacob (Emily) Monteith, Cody (Kalei) Monteith, Tucker Dockery, Annaley Dockery, Camryn Dockery, and Emersyn Dockery; and great-grandchildren, Cody Hires, Connor Hires, Caleb Hires, Ally Marbut, Emmy Marbut, Andi Marbut, Ryleigh Monteith, Lane Matheson, Hunter Chester, Oaklyn Monteith, Emery Monteith, Josie Monteith, Isla Monteith, Reid Matheson, and Tate Monteith.
Funeral Service, will be held Wednesday November 5, 2025, at 11a.m at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Geron Crawford, the Rev. Victor Morgan, and the Rev. Byron Aherns officiating.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Jacob Monteith, Cody Monteith, Franklin Hammond, Jr., Ryan Dockery, Barry Marbut, and Michael Monteith.
Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia at a later date.
The family received friends at the Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
