Matthew was born July 2, 1961, in Miami, Florida to William R. and Janet M. Claypool.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father, William R. Claypool; mother, Janet M. Claypool.
He is survived by his brother, Mark Claypool; and sister-in-law, Sharron Claypool.
Graveside Service was held Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 2 p.m. from Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery in Blue Ridge.
The family received friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please pay tribute to Matt with a donation to the National MS Society to help cure multiple sclerosis.

I was Matthew’s Caregiver for several months. He was very nice gentleman and cared a lot about his wildlife friends. I’m sorry he’s no longer with us. Sorry for your loss Mark. I just found out on 6/20/24 no one notified me of his passing. Sincerely, Norm Griffin
