It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ted Gordon Davis, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world March 30, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born October 23, 1946, in Montezuma, Georgia, Ted lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to his family. He grew up in a loving home that instilled in him the values of hard work, perseverance, and compassion.
His educational journey began at Macon County High School where he formed lifelong friendships that he maintained throughout his life. Ted graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He remained a Georgia Bulldogs football fan for life.
Ted was preceded in death by his father, Albert Harrison Davis; mother, Ella Levie Davis; and brother, Harlan Davis.
As a proud veteran, Ted served his country in the Army National Guard. He was the owner-operator of Davis Tire Company, a family business in Montezuma, Georgia. Known for his warm smile and infectious laughter, Ted loved talking with his customers and forming relationships with many in the community.
Ted's greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his children, Russell Albert Davis, Ashley Davis Gregory (Chip), both of whom never doubted how proud he was of them. His pride extended to his grandchildren, Davis Gregory, Gray Gregory, and CJ Gregory, who meant the world to him. Ted is also survived by his brother, Albert Harrison Davis Jr. (Cathy).
He moved to Epworth to be closer to the grandchildren, dedicating his time to cater to their every need. He reveled in their laughter and cherished every moment spent with them, showcasing the deep bond and unconditional love he had for his family.
As we remember Ted, we celebrate a life well-lived. A man who touched the hearts of everyone he met with his kindness, humor, and generosity. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to resonate in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
In accordance with Ted's wishes, no funeral service will be held.
