Charles Meador Obituary
West Monroe - Charles Leroy Meador went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, May 3, 2018. He was at his home in West Monroe, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Leroy was born in Fort Worth, TX, on December 25, 1946, to Charles Dally and Grace Yvonne Meador. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving two years in Vietnam, and was retired from U.P.S.
He loved fishing, especially after retiring, and spent many hours with good friends on the surrounding lakes and bayous. He was also a member of the "Breakfast Club" as well as the "Lunch Bunch", both consisting of good friends, making lasting memories. Leroy was also a devoted West Monroe Rebel fan, attending all the games he could.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pam, his daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Beau Ferguson of West Monroe, LA, his daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Dustin Stringer of Texarkana, TX, grandchildren Colt and Shelby Ferguson of West Monroe, LA, and Peyton Stringer of Texarkana, TX, brother and sister-in-law, John and Jean Meador of Queen City, TX, sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Andy Boland of Sugar Land, TX, and sister and brother-in-law, Twila and Dan Kelcourse of Dallas, TX, and brother, Don Meador of Gilmer, TX, along with many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, and the funeral service will be held Sunday, May 6, 2018, at 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Lowe and Rev. C.P. Smalling officiating. Interment will immediately following at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens Cemetery in West Monroe.

I have known Leroy since I was 6 years old. We grew up together living only a short walking distance from each other, and went to school together from the 1st thru the 12th grade! We have spent many hours gabbing on the phone just about every week for a long time now. To simply say he will be missed would be a huge understatement. RIP my friend.

Spent many weekends at Confederate park playing softball till wee hours of the morning,only to have to get up early and go to work on Monday. We had some really great times, RIP my friend, you will be missed..
