Funeral services for Myrle Ralph Morris, 90, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 21, 2014, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Dr. James Parker and Rev. Kevin McLeod officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Myrle Ralph Morris was born on July 31, 1924, in Clarks, LA, and went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2014, after a brave and courageous battle with Parkinson's. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Monroe. He was a carpenter by trade and later worked as a maintenance supervisor. Mr. Morris retired from Central Bank in 1989. He loved the outdoors, camping with his family and friends, and was an avid LSU fan. Mr. Morris was very proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and will be remembered as always helping other people.

Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Artie W. Morris and Ruth Gammill Morris; and his brothers, Reed, Ray and Clyde Morris.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Evelyne Morris; daughters, Donna Strickland (Gary) of Monroe, LA, Suzette Graham (Michael) of Oklahoma City, OK, Debbie Webb (Keith) of Southaven, MS; sons, Michael Morris (Pam) of Monroe, LA, Ralph Morris (Terisa) of Baton Rouge, LA, and Tony Morris (Vicki) of Gilbert, LA; grandchildren, Michelle Rogers (Blake) of Frisco, TX, Jennifer DeMoss (Brad) of Calhoun, LA, Heather Motley (John) of West Monroe, LA, Melissa Scroggins (Michael) of Edmond, OK, Robert Whittington (Justina) of Ponca City, OK, Ashley Webb of Southaven, MS, Christopher Webb, of Southaven, MS, Bryan Morris (Tina) of Gilbert, LA, Patrick Morris (Theresa) of West Monroe, LA, Wyatt Morris of Gilbert, LA; step-grandchildren, Colleen Fox (Andy) of Richmond, TX, Kirk Webb (Jessica) of North Richland Hills, TX; great grandchildren, Dylan and Colin Rogers, Claire and Loralei Scroggins, Haley Whittington, Hayden Morris, Cheyenne Morris; step-great grandchildren, Jack and Isaac Fox, Kylee Webb, Natalie Hall; sisters, Ruth Riser of Grayson, Lucille Claunch of Ruston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Morris's grandsons will serve as pallbearers and his great grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church.
