Ruby Gates Obituary
Mrs. Ruby Jean Gates, 68, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, became an Angel of Heaven on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Mrs. Ruby was a long time resident of the Rocky Branch Community, LA. She was a retired Head Laundry worker of 13 ? years at St. Joseph Nursing Home.
Survivors include: dedicated husband of 47 years - James W. Gates, Sr.; sons - John Wayne Gates and James W. Gates, Jr.; daughter - Sherry L. Marble; sisters - Kathleen L. Woodward and Anita L. Lamb; grandchildren - R.J. Morris, Tabatha D. Morris, Crystal A. Hogan, Alyssa L. Gates, Kenneth B. Breaux, Joshua R. Breaux, and Jennifer E. Breaux; and great grandchildren - Richard I. New, Mary-Jean C. Cheek, and Christopher B. Cheek, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Rocky Branch Baptist Church with Brother James Mooney and Pastor Woodson MacGuffy officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Branch Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home
Pallbearers will be R.J. Morris, Marvin E. Marble, Jurd Dean, Jr., Billy Jo Dean, Kenneth B. Breaux, and Joshua R. Breaux with alternates Andy Brown and Tom J. Marble, Sr.

Our deepest sympathies to James and Kathy, and to the rest of Ruby's family. I remember growing up with Ruby, Jerry, Bobby, and Kathleen. We all lived in a loving environment, especially with our Grandmother's stern, but kind guidance. It may be time to go, but we always leave a mark. Ruby's legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren. My heartfelt sympathy is with you all.
