Ruby Smith Obituary
Services for Ruby Jewel Vanderslice Smith, 86 of Rayville will be 2:00PM Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Friendship Baptist Church, north of Baskin with Rev. Prentis Gandy and Rev. John Skinner officiating. Interment will follow in the Greer Cemetery near Rayville.
Mrs. Ruby went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. She was very generous, forgiving, and kind with such a big heart to love anyone who crossed her path.
She is preceded in death by her husband-Willis E. (Bill) Smith, granddaughter-Michelle Montgomery, sister-Mary Ruth Green, and Parents-Harvey and Lillie Vanderslice.
She is survived by her five daughters-Cecelia Medlin and husband Jerry, Jewell Smith, Brenda Edwards and husband Danny, Sandra Montgomery and husband Roy Glenn, and Silvia Williamson and husband Lynn(Buddy); six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brad Williamson, Glenn Montgomery, Joshua Montgomery, Richard Medlin, Rodney Medlin, and David Pierson. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Edwards, Lynn Williamson, Roy Glenn Montgomery, Buster Williamson, David Howard, Zach Williamson, Cade Pierson and JD Bevel.
Visitation will be 5:00 until 8:00PM Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Mulhearn Funeral Home in Rayville.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St Judes Research Hospital or a charity of your choice or American Cancer Society.
