Funeral services for Derrick Lane Lewallen, 43, of Baldwin, were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Connie Berry officiating. Interment followed the service in Stonepile Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the service, from noon until 2 p.m.
Derrick passed away on November 27, 2025.
Born in Demorest on February 14, 1982, Derrick was the son of Terry and Donna Roberts Lewallen. Derrick had worked for many years as a data and fiber optic technician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football and NASCAR. Derrick was an avid craftsman who enjoyed refinishing and repurposing furniture. He was also an animal lover, especially his beloved Shadow.
In addition to his parents, survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Maddox and Chelsey W. Lewallen, of Clarkesville; son, Malachi Lewallen, of Gainesville; brothers, Kenneth Lee Lewallen, of Baldwin, and Michael Shane Lewallen, of Baldwin; sister, Kristina Danielle Lewallen Rafferty (Kevin), of Baldwin; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
