Brooks Jennet Obituary
Oshkosh - Jennet Brooks, age 86, of Oshkosh, died Saturday morning, December 1, 2018, at Lakeshore Manor in Oshkosh. Born on April 16, 1932 in Forsa, Sweden, the only child of Gunnar and Lisa (Erickson) Nordstrom, Jennet married John Brooks on May 17, 1954 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. In 1965, they settled in Oshkosh, where John was a professor at UW-Oshkosh, and raised a family.
An aide at Jacob Shapiro Elementary School, Jennet enjoyed many activities during her lifetime. An avid organic gardener (having learned about gardening from her father in Sweden), Jennet was also an award-winning baker, a talented knitter, and an intrepid traveler. She was Past President of the Fox Valley Swedish Club and a member of the UW-Oshkosh Faculty Dames.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, John Brooks of Oshkosh; her three children, Brian (Gordon Carey) of Portland, Maine, Lisa (Daniel Kniaz) of Chicago, Illinois, and Tina (Adam Landsberg) of Claremont, California; and five grandchildren, Joseph (Allison), Linnea (Liam), Trevor, Eva, and Jacob. Jennet was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at a later date.

The Oshkosh Area Humane Society would like to extend its condolences to John, Brian, Lisa, Tina, and
the entire family of Jennet. We are sorry for your loss.
We would also like to say thank you for your kindness
and gifts to the Humane Society through the years.
The donations from Jennet and John have been truly
appreciated.
We will miss seeing Jennet at our pet therapy visit on Thursday at Lake Shore.
