Harold Dahl Obituary

Dahl, Harold K.

Harold Kenneth "Hozzie" Dahl, age 91, a resident of Bethel Home in Oshkosh, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 1, 2015, at Bethel Home. He had previously resided at Oshkosh Care Center.

Hozzie was born October 19, 1923, in Oshkosh. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and St. Mary's High School of Oshkosh. He played football and basketball at Florida State University while he was a student there.

He married Shirley Gruber on February 1, 1975, in Ripon. Shirley preceded Harold in death August 23, 2004. Following his wife Shirley's death, he stayed in Lohrville for a time in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Hozzie was employed at the Neenah Foundry for 37 years. He began working as a coremaker and was Superintendent when he retired at age 55 in 1978.

Hozzie and Shirley lived in Oshkosh during the summers and spent the winters at their home in the Village of Holiday Lake at Port Charlotte Florida for a number of years. They returned to Oshkosh in 1986.

Preceding Hozzie in death were his wife, Shirley, his parents, and his 11 siblings.

He is survived by his brother-in-law and caregiver, Ken Gruber of Lohrville (Redgranite), his nieces and nephews, other relatives, and his friends and caregivers at Bethel Home in Oshkosh.

In keeping with his wishes, there was no Service or visitation. Hozzie was laid to rest beside his wife, Shirley Wednesday morning, April 8, 2015, in Lakeview Memorial Park in Oshkosh.

The Ruminski Funeral Home of Redgranite assisted Harold's family with arrangements.
