Joan Chase Obituary

Joan C. Chase, 84, of Oshkosh passed away very peacefully Monday, March 13, 2017, at Park View Health Center. She was born May 13, 1932, in Fond du Lac the daughter of the late Victor and Mildred Scherk Leib. She married Charles Chase on February 17, 1950, in Oshkosh.

Joan was a wonderful mother and held her grandchildren very special and dear to her. Through "I love you mom" to the "I love you Nana's" or just the plain "I love you's" Love to her was through happiness. Happiness came from full tummies, playing games, and making sure a smile was on your face. Showing us that happiness was everywhere; led us to an unconditional love. Through darkness and light she showed us how to spread our wings and fly. From her husband to her children to even the grandchildren Joan (Nana) always believed to encourage and uphold the everlasting light in each and every one of us.

She was a member of First English Lutheran Church.

Joan is survived by her best friend, husband Charles of Oshkosh; three children, Rev. Glenn Chase (Greg Hamilton) of Portland OR, Diane (Roger) Marx of Butte des Morts, and Christine (Brady) Bennett of Winchester; and three grandchildren, Chase Bennett (special friend Paige) of Winchester, Colton Marx of Butte des Morts, and Cheyenne Marx (special friend Kent) of Winneconne.

A funeral service for Joan will be held Monday, March 20, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lake View Memorial Park Chapel. Visitation will be at the chapel on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the service. Entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established to Mount Carmel Lutheran Church, 515 Southwest Maple Crest Drive, Portland OR 97219.

Joan's family thanks the staff at Park View Health Center, especially those on Woodside 2, for all their help and loving care over the last couple years.
