James D. Greig Jr.

GREIG, JAMES D. JR.; age 81; of Holly; died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born March 19, 1932 in Detroit, MI to James and Evangeline (Wilson) Greig. He graduated from Albion College and University of Michigan Dental School. After he married Sharon Commenator in 1956 he became a Captain in the Army. Jim and Sharon settled in Holly in 1959, where Jim opened his dental office and practiced until 1988. He stayed busy in a wide variety of activities. In addition to his dental practice, at different points in his life, he owned a scuba diving shop, a used car lot and a fire wood business. He was very involved in the community. Throughout his 50+ years in Holly he was Mayor, Township Supervisor, council member, Chamber of Commerce member, United Methodist Church member and treasurer of the Holly Community Fund. He is pre-deceased by his brother John and beloved wife Sharon. He is survived by his children, David Greig of Holly, Lisa Mefford of Monterey, CA; and grandchildren Sefton Greig, and Wilson and Kelsey Mefford. According to his wishes, his body was donated to the University of Michigan Medical School. A Service will be held at a later date.
