MATTHEWS, Joseph Alexander; age 85; born on June 17, 1928 in Lake Butler, Florida and passed away on March 23, 2014 in Crittenton Hospital, Rochester. Joseph was a lifelong resident of Pontiac, and a longtime member of North Auburn Hills Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years Marjorie; dear father of David Matthews, Karen(Edward)Hoover, and Michael (Brenda) Matthews; grandfather of Christina (James) Gibbs and Benjamin Hoover; great grandfather of Cassidy Gibbs. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Also survived by his faithful dog, Missy. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Adragna Obarzanek Funeral Home, 33250 Ryan Rd., Sterling Heights, Pastor Larry Mullins officiating. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends friends Friday, March 28, 2014 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
