Lee Miller Obituary

Lee Andrew Miller passed away on February 18, 2023 in Byron Center, Michigan. Mr. Miller was born May 24, 1956 In Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of Jack Richard Miller and Shirley Jean (Whalen) Miller. He worked for over 30 years in computer program design, installation, troubleshooting and training for companies that included EMC/SMARTS, BMC Software, Platinum Technology, Nielsen Marketing Research and Kimberly Clark Corporation. A Navy veteran, he served on the U.S.S. Enterprise as Nuclear Reactor Mechanic. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Nuclear Power Propulsion Engineering School in Vellejo, CA in 1977 and from the University of Wisconsin in 1987 with computer science and mathematics major/minor. He was also a high-level machinist and machine builder. Lee's special interests included but were not limited to amateur photography, antique furniture refinishing, wood carving, instrumental music, coin collection, rock collection and polishing, and Red Wings hockey. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Paulette Ratliff, his sons Andrew Jack Miller, Thomas Richard Miller and Patrick Joseph Miller, by stepson Maxx Ratliff, by grandchildren Raigan Miller, Felix Miller, Violet Miller and Jack Gilbert, and by his sisters Lynne Suzanne Miller, Beth Louise Miller and Kathleen Anne Miller.
