To my Maltese childhood friend from Westland, Donna Montagano, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. I remember when guys lived behind us and Mike was just a young boy with a gentle soul. I had no idea that my sister would see this sad news and wonder if it was the "same Montagano's?" I had no idea that my son took drivers ed from Mike either or that I would live just down the road from the church where the funeral will be. I'm sad that it is this terrible news that I discover what a small world it truly is. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Donna, you were my best friend the day you moved in behind mine.

Mr. M was my favorite teacher I've ever had. He always made our class laugh with his silly ways and taught me how to drive. He brought our class together in ways I've never seen done before. I remember our hour long drives where he would talk about Barry manilow, Burger King and other funny stuff. He was a great guy who helped me with other things besides driving. whenever I'd see him on the road I'd always say hi and so did many other previous students. He always made my day brighter. Our community will never forget him ❤ Rip mr.M

Mike was one of my favorite people, we became friends when he completed a driver education internship with me in Garden City, MI. Caring, exacting, always interested in setting high professional standards, Mike put tremendous energy into working with young people. I will miss our, unfortunately, infrequent contact. Godspeed, Mike!

Mr. M. taught my older two not just how to drive, but how to be safe. He had a way of taking their stress of being behind the wheel and turn it around so they could have relax about their mistakes, but remember to do better next time - those little cartoon sketches were gold!

Mr. M was my driving instructor, and many of my friends were taught by him as well. We all loved going to his classes, he was a great guy who could put a huge smile on your face. Sad to hear that he passed, my prayers will be with Mr. M and his family.

An icon in the Waterford/Clarkston area. His impact reached an uncountable number of youth, and his legacy will go on for ever. People remember who taught them how to drive, and there is no way anyone who had him will forget Mr. M. My deepest condolences to his loved ones.

Mr.M was probably the greatest driving teacher there was. His sense of humor not only made the class better but your day better as well. I still now 3 years later remember his class and the things he'd say. He helped me in ways I can not be thankful enough for. Teaching me to drive was a huge milestone for me having such bad anxiety I could barely ride in a car for some time and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else as an instructor. Mr. M is surely a man that will be missed and surely has made impacts on countless of lives. So sad to hear of this news rip Mr.M. Wish I could make it to the funeral but I have work. All of the people I had class with still talk to one another and we are heart broken. I hope mr.m is up there with his main man Jesus and not suffering anymore.
