Bonita Goss Obituary

Bonita Goss Bonita Louise Jensen Goss "Boni" was born on March 23, 1950 in Olympia, WA and died on April 6, 2015. She was one of six children born to Kenneth Jensen and Dorothy Groleau. Boni grew up in Olympia and graduated from North Thurston High School in 1968. On July 6, 1968, Boni married George Goss Jr. They had three children: George III, Bonnie and Rochelle. Boni taught Sunday school for nearly 30 years and worked at Gateway Christian Childcare Center and Shelton Valley Christian Childcare Center. Boni volunteered for the YWCA and was very active in fund-raising for the American Cancer Society. She loved children, photography, garage sales, dancing and traveling. Boni was a member of Elma Alliance Church. In addition to her husband George and her three children, she is survived by her three grandchildren: Mariah, Leighton and Donovan and her sisters, Karen Mullen and Tammy Jensen West, as well as numerous other family members. Boni was preceded in death by her parents and three of her siblings: Ronald, Colleen and James. A memorial service will be held at Sojourn Community Church, 8004 Pacific Avenue SE, Lacey, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015.

It's been 10 years since Boni went home to be with Jesus. I've never forgotten her grace and kindness. She was a wonderful pre-school teach and hundreds of children benefitted from her care and love! She was a great friend that taught me some wonderful lessons of life. Rest in peace my friend, I miss you!

It has been 10 years since she passed and there hasn't been a day I haven't thought about my mom. I thank God that I was born to such an incredible woman. Her memory continues to inspire me all the time. I wish she was here to keep pulling together family parties like she used to, and to see all of the new faces in our family. To meet her new daughter-in-law and son-in-law, her new grandkids and her great-grand babies. She would be so happy to spend time with them all, and spoil them all. I am also reminded often how she loved unconditionally and got joy out of the simple things. She was great at keeping in touch with people and checking in on everyone, and was such a good listener. We should all try to be more like that. I miss you mom <3

Boni, was my cousin. She was 8 years older than me. I knew her very well and she was a very sweet and loving cousin to me and my sister (both of us are Deaf). Many years ago, I, as a talented artist, Boni asked me with her favor to draw a picture of her mother and grandma for her and she really loved and impressed with my artwork. Boni was a wonderful wife to her beloved husband, George of 47 long years of marriage. And she was a wonderful mother to her three grown children, too. Also she enjoyed to spend with her grandchildren. God loved and blessed Boni greatly because she was a special person. We'll remember her in our heart.
