Dolores Travis Dolores Travis, 94, of Olympia, went to Heaven with her Lord Jesus on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. She was born on January 13, 1922 in Hardy, AR, to Jesse and Lilly "Mae" Counts. As a teenager, she moved with her family to the Olympia area, where she graduated from high school. On June 27, 1941, Dolores married Ranger E. Travis. They raised 5 children on "the farm" near Lacey. They were longtime members of Lacey Chapel. With the family she did a lot of camping and traveling from Alaska to Mexico. When most of the kids were grown, Dolores worked at Sunset Life Insurance Company in Olympia. After their youngest graduated from high school, they moved to the Kent area. For several years they continued to drive between Kent and Lacey, maintaining both places. Dolores loved her family, giving and sharing with others. She also enjoyed flowers, gardening and singing church hymns. For several years she entered vegetables from her garden at the Thurston County Fair. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ranger; her parents; 3 brothers and a grandson. Survivors include her children (and spouses): Judy Holien of Seal Rock, OR, Dave (Sharon) Travis of Bend, OR, Viola (Rick) Woods of Tenino, WA, Jerry (Terry) Travis of Laughlin, NV, Ann (Rick) Phillips of East Wenatchee, WA; 12 grandchildren: Darren Holien, Laurie Holien, Misha Ralston, Brandon Travis, Kari Costin, Levi Woods, Seth Woods, Hannah Woods, Jonathan Travis, Jesse Travis, Casey Phillips and Brady Phillips; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. A graveside service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 2:15 pm. A memorial service will take place at Lacey Chapel on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse or Lacey Chapel. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee (509) 884-3561.
