Eugene Adams Obituary

sEugene Val Adams, 82, a lifelong resident of Olympia, died Sunday, November 16, 2003. He was born August 18, 1921 in Olympia to Lester and Beatrice Adams. Gene graduated from Olympia High School in 1941. On July 8, 1942 he married the former Alice Furlong, who survives.Gene served in the US Army from 1942 to 1946. After his Army service he worked for Olympia Veneer and later was a Safety Inspector with Washington State Department of Labor and Industries, retiring in 1983. His interests included automobiles, raising roses, traveling, and animals. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, D.A.V. #41, and the Olympia Rose Society.In addition to his wife, Gene is survived by four sons, Denis Adams, Timothy (Rebecca) Adams, Kevin (Linda) Adams, all of Olympia, Michael (Alice) Adams, Shelton; two daughters, Therese Barkus, Olympia, Julia (Gary) Rupe, Tumwater; sister, Helen (Anor) Buswell, Toledo; 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; one niece and two nephews. One son, Roger, preceded him in death.Funeral services will be held Friday, November 21, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Parish, 1005 Boundary SE, Olympia. A reception will follow the service.Arrangements by FuneralAlternatives of Washington, 360-753-1065.
