Olympia, Washington - Helen Frances Wilder passed away on Monday, May 12th at the age of 97.
She was born September 19, 1927 in Campbell River BC, to Fred and Emma Haslam, who were working in BC at the time. Helen grew up in Silverdale, WA, where she met her husband Ronald (Stick) Wilder. The two were married in 1950 and had three children. Bruce, Don and Cindy. They made their residence in Olympia for more than 60 years. She and Stick loved to travel and spend time in their Cessna and out on their boat. She was the co-captain of each.
Helen was also an avid member of the Olympia County Club and golfed until she was 90. She was preceded in death by her son Bruce and husband Stick.
Helen is survived by her sister Mary Mitchell and husband Don; her son Don Wilder and wife Christine; daughter Cindy Andrews and husband Rob; grandkids Zach Johnson and wife Sierra (with first great grandchild on the way); Nick Johnson and wife Alysse; Kelsey Wilder, and husband Colton; and Brian Wilder.
At Helen's request, her ashes will be scattered along with Stick's by her family in a private family ceremony.

I just learned of Helen's passing in May. Helen was such a wonderful person. She was my friend, Mother-in-law for a few years, and mentor. I played golf with her once or twice when she was nearly 90 - after not seeing her much for several years. It felt good to reconnect. I send my condolences to her sister Mary, son Don & daughter Cindy and their families. It truly is a great loss as she was such an interesting, generous, fun & dear person.
