James Rennick Obituary

James Rennick James Rennick, known to his friends and family as Jim, passed away at home on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the age of 9l, surrounded by four generations of loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Donna of 67 years; daughter, Beth (Rodney) Taylor; son, Donald (Nancy) Rennick; six grandchildren; ten great-grand- children; brother, Harold Rennick; and sister, Carolyn Smith. He was born to Mable and Charles Rennick on May 12, 1920 at Big Sandy, Montana. He married Donna Lindeke on May 24, 1944 in Seattle, WA. He served in the Merchant Marine, (U.S.C.G.) from Nov. 1941 to March 1946, mostly in the South Pacific, as both a seaman and an officer. He and Donna moved to Olympia in 1949 and they joined First United Methodist Church where they have remained members. He served on the Olympia Fire Dept. from 1950 to 1956, then worked for Darigold as a wholesale icecream truck driver until he retired in 1975. He and Donna traveled all over the country in a trailer, and all over the world after their retirement. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 1224 Legion Way SE on Sat. October 1, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Memorial donations in his name may be sent to Providence Hospice or First United Methodist Church.
