Jason Slingerland Obituary

Jason Robert Slingerland, 34, passed away on March 30, 2007. He was born in Centralia on August 16, 1972 and lived most of his life in Rochester. Jason was a firefighter, emergency medical technician, and paramedic. He also drove trucks for the National Frozen Food Corporation and North Fork Timber. In 2004, Jason was diagnosed with leukemia, and he completed a bone marrow transplant in 2005. He was doing well and looking forward to the future. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Whittaker); parents, Les Slingerland and Susan DeGuise; and daughters, Jessica and Jaycie. The family wishes to thank Western Washington Oncology, Providence St. Peter Hospital Oncology, and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance for their exceptional care and friendship. A memorial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Newell- Hoerling's Mortuary in Centralia. A reception will follow at the Ford's Prairie Grange. Memorial donations may be sent to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, (206) 667-6121.
