Jeff McCloud

Jeffry McCloud Puyallup Tribe member Jeff McCloud was born December 22, 1956 in Olympia, WA, and passed on to the spirit world February 25, 2014 at McCloud Acres. Jeff was a traditional man whose passions were fishing on the Puyallup River and being a tender for the geoduck divers. Life on the water was his joy. In his early years he was a member of the IBEW union; he climbed and topped trees; and was one of the best at heavy equipment operating. He was a master at smoking and canning salmon and shared with any and everyone who wanted it. Later in life he became an avid gardener, sharing all he harvested. Jeff was a kind-hearted man, generous to a fault, always helping those in need. Quite the loving soul, who always loved a good joke. Jeff is survived by Christine, his loving wife of 20 years; siblings Laura Sterud (Mike), Nancy Shippentower-Games (Johnny), Mac McCloud (Joyce), Sally McCloud, Julie Vanevery (Allan), Barbara McCloud-Shanta (David), Binah McCloud-Paz (Bennie); son Phillip Dillon; many nieces and nephews and grand-nephews and nieces, all of whom he loved dearly, and a large extended family, many of them present at his final time of need. Not to be forgotten are all his people of the water and Patches, Junior, Sadie & Maya. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald "Wah-laha" McCloud Sr., his mother, "Yet-Si-Blu" McCloud. Candlelight Shaker Service is at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2014 and service at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2014, both at the Puyallup Tribal Youth Center.
