Robert Harry Porter Minns

Robert Harry Porter Minns Robert died at the age of 48 on March 9, 2015 in Los Angeles. He lived in Long Beach, CA. Robert was born in Olympia and graduated from Tumwater High School in 1984. He graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a major in Piano Composition in 1988 and major in Math in 1989. He enjoyed living in Los Angeles and working as an administrative assistant for L.A. County Health Department for 15 years. Robert returned to Olympia in 2004 to be closer to family and friends. In 2013 he moved to Long Beach, CA, to peruse creative interests. Throughout his life, he wrote and performed many piano and guitar compositions, wrote several screen plays, participated in many choirs, and was a church organist. He was survived by his father, Gary Minns; mother, Eleanor van Noppen; sister, Carol Stovall (Chris) and their children, Charene, Cam'ron, Carissa; uncle, David Porter (Manuela) and their son, Richard; partner, Melvin Morgan; godson, Daniel Killens. A memorial service will be held at United Churches of Olympia, 110 Eleventh Ave. SE (corner of Capitol Way), Sunday, March 22, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. To honor him, donate to a charity of your choice.
