Roger Ensign Obituary
May 18, 1936 - February 3, 2021
Longview, Washington - Passed into the loving arms of his Savior February 3, 2021 at 12:50 am. Jesus follower, pastor, bush pilot, outdoorsman, father, grandfather, husband, and brother. Roger was a man's man who left a legacy of receiving "ALL" who allowed him into their lives. He loved others as Jesus did! A disciple to the last, loving his family and others to the final hours of life. His physical suffering became chronically overwhelming and with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. his departure rang as follows, "Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty we are free at last." With Jesus he would remind us all that "The Spirit of the Lord is on us because he has anointed us to preach good news to the poor. He has sent us to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed." Luke 4:18.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Maxine Ensign; sisters Geneva Ensign-Langin and Teresa (Elvin) Lerew; children Rita (Ron) Nussli, Rolly (Peggy) Ensign, Rick (Colleen) Ensign, Robin (Mike) Kochanski; grandchildren Amber (Ygor) Ensign-Kalil, Natalie (Dexter) Johnson, Diana (Chance) Pavelec, Kariann (Shawn) Sullivan, Rhyson (Aleah) Nussli, Lindy (Cody) Kelley, Nick Middleton-Ensign; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Mina Ensign, brothers Ron and Ralph, and great-granddaughter Sadie.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for July 10, 2021 at 1 pm, at Exodus Christian Fellowship, 2746 Ocean Beach Hwy, Longview, WA 98632. In lieu of flowers please send any acknowledgements (donations) to Community Home Health & Hospice - Longview, 1035 - 11th Ave, Longview, WA 98632.
