Barbara Muncy Obituary
Barbara lived a life grounded in faith, compassion, and service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Clifton Muncy; her children, John Arthur Muncy and Catherine Sue Muncy; and her brother, Kenneth Eversole. She is survived by her son and devoted caretaker, James "J. Apple" Muncy, and daughter-in-law Nancy; her grandchildren, Elaine Sayre, Kate Newel, Jessicca White, and Alex Sayre; and seven great-grandchildren: Grace, Sadie, Seth, Erin, Audrey, Laura, and Aubree.
A dedicated nurse for more than 25 years at St. Joseph Hospital in South Bend, Barbara worked in the intensive care unit, where her steady presence and kind spirit brought comfort to countless patients and families. Her commitment to caring for others also extended far beyond her profession. With her husband Arthur, she traveled on service missions to Mexico and Cuba with the Lions Club, helping fit people with glasses and assisting families in building homes.
Barbara was a lifelong member of the Bremen Church of the Brethren and also active in the Salvation Army of Bloomington, serving as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and infant room attendant. Her faith guided every part of her life, and she lived it through quiet generosity and unwavering kindness.
Her greatest joy was her family. Barbara never missed a birthday or holiday, and she traveled across the country-and even abroad-to visit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always bringing small gifts and her warm, calming presence.
Barbara Ellen Muncy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her deep compassion, and her lifelong dedication to helping others. Her legacy of love and service lives on in all who knew her.
Services will be held on November 28 from 1-2pm at the Bremen Cemetery Chapel located at 100 East 2nd Street, Bremen, Indiana.
