James E. Ruby

1958 - 2026

James E. Ruby, 68, of Argos, Indiana passed away on March 28th, 2026, at the Center for Hospice Care in Mishawaka, IN. James was born to Kenneth Ruby and Patricia Ruby (Taylor) on February 20th, 1958, in Plymouth, Indiana. He was very well known and a lifelong member of the Culver community. He met and later married Kathy Ruby on February 1st, of 2003. Jim was a truck driver for Michiana "Bin There Dump That" for many years. Jim Ruby was a staple of the Marshall County agricultural community and a passionate supporter of 4-H. James spent countless hours in the barn grooming, fitting, and assisted preparing beloved cows for the county fair. James loved spending his time at the fair, watching his granddaughter shine.He was a proud supporter, often cheering from the stands, showcasing the joy of watching his grandson play baseball.Jim's legacy is one of integrity, resilience, and love. He believed in doing the job right the first time, a lesson he instilled in his children. James is survived by his wife, Kathy Sue Ruby (Schippers) of Argos, Indiana. His children, Matthew Ruby and his wife Lindsey Ruby of Rochester, Indiana and daughter Dawn Ruby of Culver, Indiana. His stepson, Dwayne Bogue and wife Jazmin Bogue and stepdaughter, Joleen Malley and Garrod Malley. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Ruby and his wife Anita Ruby and sister Peggy Yanez. James leaves behind many grandchildren, Zayne Ruby, Aysia Ruby, Connor Sternaman, Lucas Sternaman, Lily Bogue, Yazana Bogue, Patience Malley, and Michael Malley. James also had many nieces and nephews. While our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing James Ruby is reunited with his parents Kenneth and Patricia, basking in the love that never truly dies.
A time of visitation will be held at Odom Funeral Home, Culver, Indiana from 3:00pm-7:00pm on Wednesday April 1st, 2026. Friends and family members are to come celebrate the life of James, who filled our life with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
