I am sorry to learn of your mother's death. She was my first cousin on your Grandmother Geneva's side.

None of us cousins to your mother on the Malott side knew of Mable's passing. I just found this information after my letter to Mable was returned by the Postal Service last week. I have many fond childhood memories of Mable, Everett and Carol. Carol and I were the same age. We lived in Macy until my father died in 1959. Then we moved to Tucson where we lived near Grandma and Grandpa Malott. There are 3 of us granddaughters born 1 month apart the same year, Kathy being the 3rd one.

May God give you comfort in your grief.

Dear Paul Family
So very sorry to read of Mabel's passing. She had a heart of gold and was a true leader of many. I knew her from many years ago when I had a store in downtown Plymouth and she bought many items. Whenever I ran into her she was still very friendly and caring. Treasure your memories.

Dear Becky and Family, I wanted to write and tell you how sorry I was to hear of your mom's passing. My mom died July 10 so I know how your heart must be breaking. Mabel sure was bigger than life and a true proponent for the 4-H program. I enjoyed being with her and I feel she has motivated me to be a strong 4-H leader and to be involved. Praying that today is a day to share, laugh and remember the best of your mom. Praying for you. Sharon Richie

Becky, your mother was such a sweet lady! It's no wonder she was loved by so many. The last time I saw her was in Martin's Supermarket in Plymouth about a year ago. I thought she looked like I always remembered her - with a smile on her face. I am so sorry for your loss. Cherish her memory.

Becky and Family,
So sorry for your loss. Mabel was one of the nicest, most caring person I knew. We may have been gone for 20+ years but when we were back in Indiana and we would see her, she remained warm and caring. She was a terrific Sunday School teacher for Angela, who grew up to do the same thing. She had a good foundation and role model.
God's peace to you all. I know Mabel will be greatly missed. She was greatly loved by many.
Love,
Jane Fosler and family.

My deepest sympathy to all of you. Mabel was such a special and wonderful lady. I loved her so much she could always make you smile or laugh by just being herself! I was Amy's 4-H camp counselor many years ago and she always made sure she would let me know how Amy was doing when I would see her at the doctors office.. My heart is broken for you entire family, but I smile thinking of her and DP being together again and I am sure they are both nagging the other one to make up for lost time! May God wrap his arms around you and comfort you. Amy (Runkle) Calvert

My family met Mabel through 4-H as did so many others in our community. Mabel always had an encouraging word for all of "her kids" and knew how to handle the ornery ones. I've always loved her no nonsense approach to dealing with all of them. Mabel remembered my kids' birthdays, and seeing her or Don come up the driveway with a plate of fresh-baked cookies for them on their big day was a common theme. Mabel has been family to us for many years even though we weren't truly related. When Don died, I was honored to help her through some difficult tasks and treasured the time she and I spent together. Her passing leaves a hole in my heart. She is home with Don now, but we are sure going to miss her....and one last time, Mabel, "No, you are not bothering me!" I'm going to miss those calls that always started out with that question. :-) RIP Grandma Mabel.

I first met Mable at a 4-H Conference what a Lady. We became friends almost from the first Hello! I appreciated her honesty and her quick wit. We had some great times at both her fair and mine. 4-H had always been her life right behind her family and her God. She was a wonderful cook and loved sharing it with others, My husband served on the Co-op Board of Directors under Don's guidance and he too learned to appreciate Mable and Don as very fine people. They were a very special couple. Our sympathy to the family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Grovertown may have lost an angel, but heaven gained another. She was like a second mother to my dad and his brothers as they grew up next door as kids. I have hunted my grandparents' place next door to her's since 1987 and her place since 1999. I used to enjoy the evening silence being broken by Don yelling at the horse or pigs from my tree stands within four hundred yards of their back door. After Don passed I'd then hear Mabel calling nightly for the dog. I shared many conversations with her over the years betwen the house and the barn and last fall she was as sharp as a tack. She had a beautiful soul. Their isn't another that will be so missed in this small part of God's world as this fine woman. Thanks for sharing your memories with me. I can't wait to see you again. Tell Don that ND's football player's better get their act together or Navy will beat them again.

I know Mabel was very involved in this community and did a lot for young people here. I especially appreciated how she made my middle son feel special on the basketball team even though he wasn't a starting player. Then she continued through the years beyond graduation. When someone blessed your child, it is truly priceless. I will miss her.
