Rebecca Houin Obituary

Rebecca J. Houin
November 22, 1950 - March 22, 2018

PLYMOUTH - Rebecca "Becky" J. (Mrs. Richard) Houin, 67, passed away suddenly of an apparent heart attack early Thursday morning while preparing to return from their winter home in Cape Coral, Fla.
Becky was born in South Bend, Indiana on Nov. 22, 1950, the second of four daughters born to Edward J. and Leatrice J. (Bartoszek) Jeziorski. She graduated from LaSalle High School with the Class of 1968. Always a vibrant soul, Becky was active as a cheerleader and was chosen for the Homecoming Court.
In 1972 she met Richard J. "Dick" Houin on an arranged date that took them dancing. On June 15, 1973 they were joined in Holy Matrimony at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Plymouth. They established their home on 13th Road in Plymouth near the family farm and have enjoyed 45 wonderful years together.
Often the joy of the party, Becky was a person on the go and loved to meet and interact with people. She was content with a trip to the Blue Chip, Kohl's or a good flea market. Becky was a prankster who was loved and will be missed by many.
She has lifelong connections from having worked at the South Bend Clinic, OEC Medical Systems in Bourbon to Biomet in Warsaw and Pactiv in Plymouth. Her greatest joys came from children that she mentored while working at the Boys & Girls Club of Marshall County and being remembered by them years later. Becky also enjoyed assisting in the cafeteria of Lincoln Jr. High School.
Becky is survived by her loving husband Dick, their dear daughter Amber Lynn Schulze and husband Matt with grandchildren Weston, Garrett and Addliyn of Beavercreek, Ohio who she so looked forward to spending Easter with.
Her siblings include; Pamela S. Trittipo and husband Lynn of Ft. Wayne, Constance L. Shidaker of St. Louis, Mo. and Michelle M. Wagner and husband Ron of Avon, along with many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Terry Jerziorski, a brother-in-law John Shidaker and her in-laws Carl and Pauline Houin.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 28 from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
The Funeral Liturgy is at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 29 in St. Michael Catholic Church, 613 N. Center St., Plymouth where calling will continue after 10 a.m. until time of services. Fr. Craig Borchard will officiate.
Burial will follow in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Marshall County, 314 E. Jefferson St., Plymouth, Ind. 46563.
