Weldon Clair Alderfer

ARGOS - Weldon Clair Alderfer, 89, formerly of 18th Road, Argos, died June 13, 2015 at 8:33 p.m. at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester. He had been in declining health for the past couple of years.
He was born July 1, 1925 in rural Fulton County to Clarence "Lee" Alderfer and Gertrude Bernice (Fletcher) Alderfer.
He had lived in the Argos community all of his life.
On Nov. 11, 1945 at the Walnut Gospel Church of Walnut he married Wilma Jean Bodey.
Weldon was a farmer and retired from the Marshall County Highway Department.
He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Rochester. He was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1943.
He is survived by his son – Roger L. Alderfer and wife Elaine of Greenfield; daughter – Gloria Smith and husband Kenneth of Argos; stepgranddaughter – Suzette Bergstedt and husband Douglas of Logansport; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife – Wilma Jean Alderfer; Dec. 7, 2008.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 3 – 7 p.m. at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. June 17, 2015 at the funeral home.
A private burial will take place at Richland Center Cemetery, Argos.
